So I’m not re-living the glory days (glory days?) of working at Starbucks, but I want people to learn something important. I will make this lesson quick.
I have missed out on many opportunities just by not understanding Starbucks’ official refill policy. Basically it works like this:
If you buy any drink of latte, cappuccino, frappuccino caliber, you can return in the same visit to get a your “REFILL” as any hot/cold tea & coffee or a refresher for a discounted price (Greencard and Goldcard members get these refills for free). If this hasn’t changed your life, I’m not done.
If you get, say, a Passion Tea for your first drink you can then go back and change it up with something crazy and get an ice coffee with milk (and white mocha and hazelnut if you’re like me). This newfound freedom may be disturbing because it can combine the already complicated decision-making process of three Starbucks trips into one trip.
So next time you go to Starbucks, I hope you feel armed with this new information. Use it well.
